START WITH THE THINGS YOU KNOW
Reference sizes show W × D × H for the selected configuration. Cubes use the selected reference envelope. Carton references and bare-device sizes are distinguished. Size examples are marked. Measure your actual shipment when it differs.

Choose what’s moving, staying or still undecided. Measure pieces that don’t match a typical size.
VOLUME IS A STARTING POINT
Compare your upper planning scenario with Sterling’s approximate vehicle volume classes. The actual truck, payload, door opening and loading arrangement still need confirmation.
Add flexibility for gaps and loading arrangement. These editable assumptions are not a measured error bound. Unlisted belongings are not magically covered.
The upper scenario also includes anything marked undecided.
THE SPACE IS ONLY PART OF THE JOB
Opens Google Maps with the locations you enter. Copy its driving miles here. A standard driving route is not truck-access approval.
Include stairs, carrying distance, shared elevators and building time windows. If a sofa fitted on the way in, it may still need a different plan at your new address.
Planning a gap between homes →YOUR INPUTS. VISIBLE MATH.
Use rates and hours from a quote you have, or your own assumptions. These calculations are not Sterling prices or a confirmed booking.
Sterling local moves are usually hourly; estimated hours are not a fixed final total. A long-distance flat quote covers the agreed shipment and services. Added items or changed access need a reviewed written scope.
Ordinary furniture assembly uses moving labor time. Company boxes are charged separately; moving blankets, tape and shrink wrap have no separate material charge.

FROM A ROUGH LIST TO A CLEARER SCOPE
Choose Home or Office, add furniture and packed boxes, and set quantities. Mark belongings as moving, staying or undecided. Include closets, storage areas and the contents you will pack separately.
Start with an approximate preset, then enter the protected shipping dimensions of unusual items. Compare the inventory total with the editable loading scenarios. The truck illustration is a space reference; the team checks fit, weight and access.
Keep editing in this browser, save a plan file or print a PDF. When you want a written moving estimate, carry the same list to our quote form. You can also request an estimate directly without completing the calculator.
This calculator estimates inventory volume in cubic feet or cubic metres. It does not turn that number into a Sterling price. Price also depends on the route, access, packing, weight, timing and agreed work. The optional budget tab uses rates and hours you enter yourself. Request a written estimate for the actual shipment.
For an item measured in inches, multiply length × width × height and divide by 1,728. A 24 × 24 × 24-inch carton is 8 cubic feet. Measure the outside of the actual protected item or package, and multiply by quantity. Rectangular volume is a planning reference, not a solved loading arrangement.
No. You can build the list, see the volume, save a file and print a PDF without providing contacts. Your plan stays in this browser on this device. Contact details are requested only if you choose to submit a quote request.
Yes. The Office branch has its own saved inventory for workstations, meeting rooms, storage and equipment. Switching between Home and Office keeps both lists. Review equipment preparation, building hours and freight-elevator or loading-dock access with the responsible teams.
You can save it and return later, or ask the team to review a partial list. Mark undecided items and explain missing rooms or unusual pieces. A percentage allowance cannot find omitted belongings. The written estimate needs an agreed shipment and service scope.
Plan the service around your list: local moving · long-distance moving · packing · moving storage. Read the method and reference sources →
Typical item allowances help you begin quickly. Add measurements for an unusual dresser or a boxed TV. A measured rectangular item uses length × width × height.
