Furniture Delivery & Placement

Furniture Delivery & Placement

Collect a furniture purchase from its actual release address, or finish the carry after a curb or garage delivery. We review fit, preparation, transport and placement so the item reaches its agreed room.

You arrange the purchase and release. Furniture unwrapping is part of delivery; optional finishing, removal and packaging collection are separately agreed.

The real pickup address

Store, workshop, private seller or an item already on site.

Fit beyond the front door

Protected dimensions and turns determine the carry.

Assembly reviewed by model

Basic reassembly and complex flat-pack work are different.

A ready receiving room

Release, building access and placement connect the visit.

Pickup and receiving

Bring the purchase from its real starting point to its receiving room.

We collect agreed furniture and other reviewed purchases from a store, workshop, auction release or private seller, then carry and place them at the destination. We can also handle the remaining carry when a retailer or freight carrier has already left the piece at a curb, entrance or garage.

You arrange the purchase, release and appointment with the seller. Provide the actual warehouse or workshop address, order reference, authorization and a person who can hand over the item. A showroom or public office address may differ from the collection location.

Show how the item will be released: assembled, boxed, wrapped or palletized. Send dimensions, photographs and the complete route at both properties. We review the vehicle position, carry, final room and any agreed dismantling or assembly before preparing the estimate.

Choose the work

Three starting points, each with different preparation.

Store or workshop collection

A release appointment, ready order and actual pickup address connect the seller with the crew. Protection, carrying and receiving-room work must be identified even when the item is new.

Private purchase or estate release

The owner or authorized seller approves the exact items and collection. Confirm whether contents will be emptied and whether any furniture needs preparation before the crew arrives.

An item already delivered

The current position becomes the origin. Measure the route from there to the intended room and clear that room first. If another delivery is still pending, agree timing before relying on two crews meeting at one moment.

Construction and fit

A doorway is one part of the route.

Measure the approach, entry, door openings, stairs, landings, ceilings and final position. Include fixed rails, radiators and door swings. Compare the actual construction and protected dimensions with that complete route before the purchase is collected.

Some furniture can be separated into suitable components, carried and reassembled. Glued, modified or damaged construction can change the plan. Specialist sofa work, large wardrobes, Murphy beds and other complex pieces need individual review; disassembly is not a guarantee that any object will fit.

A flat-pack bed can contain panels, drawers, supports and hardware that pass the door while considerable assembly remains. Reassembling suitable larger components of used furniture is different from building it from every original panel. Supply the exact manufacturer, model, instructions, missing parts and required wall attachment.

Illustrative situations from our local pages

Different homes, different useful plans.

These are hypothetical planning situations, not reports of completed customer jobs.

Hudson Valley · Poughkeepsie

A dining table is already in the garage

Consider a table that another carrier has already delivered. Removing suitable legs may allow the tabletop through the entrance, but the upstairs turn still needs checking. Photograph and measure the route before assuming that the dining room can receive it.

The useful scope is preparation, the garage-to-room carry and reassembly, with an empty receiving position. It is different from another store collection. If the actual construction or stair geometry prevents the carry, the placement plan must change before the visit.

Northern New York · Watertown

A purchase near Copenhagen needs an upstairs receiving plan

Imagine a dining table ordered in Copenhagen for a Watertown apartment. Begin with the ready-for-collection date and tabletop dimensions, then the receiving porch, shared hallway and stair turn. The distance between towns does not establish the work inside either property.

A gallery piece instead needs material-specific protection, while a patio purchase can have an easy driveway unload and a narrow final gate. Record those differences, the release contact and the useful final position before choosing the crew and appointment.

Access and release

Make access and release part of the booking.

The working vehicle needs a usable, lawful loading position at each end. Identify appointment hours, loading entrances, gate instructions, elevators and a receiver who can direct the room plan. An available visitor parking area does not reserve a moving position.

We can coordinate the mover’s certificate of insurance from a building’s requirements and agree who requests dock or elevator bookings. Management acceptance must be checked before the appointment. For a private seller, the person releasing the piece also needs to know which items and parts are approved to leave.

Furniture is unwrapped as part of delivery. Optional box unpacking, old-item relocation or removal, hanging and packaging collection are separate selected tasks. A room that is ready for a new piece can avoid carrying the old furniture out after the route is already full.

Dates and complete cost

Compare the complete purchase-to-room cost.

Working time and minimum

The smallest delivery booking usually begins with two movers and a two-hour minimum. That minimum is a booking condition, not a fixed total or promise to finish every carry and assembly within two hours.

Assembly and protection

Suitable basic disassembly and reassembly use labor time without a separate basic surcharge. Complex items need their own quote. Company boxes are separate; blankets, shrink wrap and tape have no separate material charge.

Dates and farther destinations

Same-day or next-day availability depends on the actual crew schedule and work. Farther shipments can use a reviewed direct or consolidated plan; a local opening does not establish same-day arrival at a distant address.

Shops, designers and makers

Repeated or project deliveries need actual release and receiving contacts, inventory and accepted stages. The name of a retailer or workshop does not make it a Sterling partner or establish its delivery terms.

Furniture Delivery & Placement questions

Practical answers about the work, preparation, price and receiving result.

Ask a coordinator
Can you collect a Marketplace or Craigslist purchase?

Yes, with the seller’s approved release and a collection appointment. You handle the purchase. Send the actual pickup address, item photographs, dimensions, any disassembly need and the route to your receiving room.

Can you carry something that is already in my garage?

Yes. Its present position is the starting point for the carry and placement. Show the full route to the final room and identify any preparation or assembly. No second store collection is needed.

Will you assemble a bed or wardrobe after delivery?

Yes, with the exact model and required work reviewed. Suitable basic reassembly uses labor time; complex flat-pack or specialist work is individually quoted. Provide instructions and disclose damaged or missing parts and wall attachments.

What if the assembled item will not fit?

We review removable components and the complete route before booking the carry. Some items can be prepared and reassembled; construction, condition or geometry can prevent that approach. Change the receiving position or preparation plan before collection rather than assume every piece can be made to fit.

Is two hours a fixed delivery price?

No. The usual smallest booking starts with two movers and a two-hour minimum. The actual carry, travel, access, preparation and assembly determine the time and cost; the minimum is not a completion cap.

Can I book a delivery today or tomorrow?

A suitable opening may be available in the crew schedule. Send the item, addresses, release appointment and receiving hours so we can check it. Booking ahead provides more options; availability does not establish a guaranteed discount or distant arrival date.

Can you remove the old furniture too?

Yes, when its relocation or removal is separately approved and quoted. Identify the old piece, its destination and the timing before the replacement arrives. Packaging collection is also a separate charge.

Can a small purchase travel farther or to Canada?

Yes, subject to route and shipment review. Compare a direct dedicated journey with consolidated delivery if you can accept a wider window. The long-distance plan identifies arrival, handling and any border documents for the actual route.

A plan for your actual move

Plan the work around your actual items and property.

Send the item list, photographs, both ends of the handling route and the dates that matter. We will explain the stages and prepare a written estimate.
