The modules below combine place-based orientation with citywide setup checks. They are starting points for inspecting an address, not official neighborhood boundaries, school zones or utility service areas.
Main Street & the municipal side
The civic and errand core: the municipal offices on Blacklick Street, Main Street's shops, and the elementary and middle schools on the same street.
City of Groveport — municipal offices ↗- Housing & setting
- Compare the actual entrance, driveway and parking signs on any home you inspect near Main Street.
- Daily travel
- Test the route to your destination at the hours you will travel; the citywide mean is not a Main Street journey time.
- Before choosing
- Ask municipal offices about the address jurisdiction, then contact the relevant utility or collection provider.
- Housing & setting
- A nearby school building does not establish the school assigned to a home.
- Daily travel
- Use the district street directory and ask transportation about the assigned school and route.
- Before choosing
- Use the district enrollment page and required-documents checklist; wait for the assigned-school confirmation.
- Housing & setting
- Inspect any basement, garage and stairs that actually exist at the property rather than assuming a house layout.
- Daily travel
- The citywide mean commute is about 24 minutes; test the exact destination and return journey.
- Before choosing
- Count the basement, garage and shed into the moving inventory — and plan the cleanout against Monday.
The Monday-collection layer
Trash, recycling and yard waste share Monday collection, with set-out by 7 a.m.; city brush rounds start Monday during March–November and continue through the week.
Groveport — residential brush program ↗- Housing & setting
- A citywide collection checklist, not a residential area; confirm how an apartment or privately managed site handles waste.
- Daily travel
- Plan curb placement with the provider so containers do not block the agreed loading route.
- Before choosing
- Brush: branches 4–10 feet long and about ½–3½ inches thick, cut ends aligned within 6 feet of the curb or at the driveway end; contractor waste is excluded.
Utility connections and account setup
Columbus supplies water to much of the business-park area and treats Groveport sanitary wastewater; residential connections must be checked individually.
Groveport — residential wastewater systems ↗- Housing & setting
- Ask for the actual water supplier, sewer connection or home treatment system and the account-transfer requirements.
- Daily travel
- A setup task rather than a place: confirm who opens the account and when service begins.
- Before choosing
- Contact Public Service with the address before using a bill-payment portal; paying an existing bill does not establish new service.
