Choose a Pasadena address by the home, trips and service arrangements your household will use. This guide covers Maryland’s Pasadena CDP and address-specific checks in the wider Anne Arundel area.
Test the actual trips to the services your household needs.
01 /
Choose the checks that match your situation
If you are comparing addresses, start with the property, the daily journey and the service responsibilities. If you have children, establish school assignment and enrollment before planning the school run. If you already have a possession date, work through utilities, collection, access and the arrival sequence.
A commuter household, someone working from home, a renter sharing a house and a household downsizing will have different priorities. List the trips and services you cannot do without, then test them from the exact address. The question is whether the property supports your routine, not whether a general description of Pasadena sounds attractive.
When you are ready to arrange handling and transport, use the Pasadena moving page with the inventory and access details you have gathered. This guide keeps the household setup questions separate from the moving estimate.

A statistical place inside Anne Arundel County
Pasadena here means the Maryland census-designated place, GEOID 2460475, in unincorporated Anne Arundel County. It is not Pasadena in California or Texas. The map shows the Census boundary; it does not show the entire ZIP 21122 area or establish utility territory, school attendance, a truck route or property eligibility for a county service.
The Census Reporter profile identifies ACS 2024 five-year estimates for this exact CDP: 34,309 residents, 83.7% owner occupancy among occupied housing units, 89.4% single-unit housing and 1.8% vacant units. These are survey estimates for 2020–2024, with uncertainty, rather than current listings or a description of the company’s orders. The small vacancy estimate especially should not be treated as a precise measure of homes available today.
Use county departments for the county responsibilities described here and verify any private or state responsibility separately. Public destinations using a Pasadena postal address may be outside the CDP. A useful search begins with the parcel and actual service owner, then follows the household’s needs.
Census TIGERweb CDP geometry for orientation; a CDP is a statistical boundary — municipal procedures belong to Anne Arundel County. Not school assignments or approved truck routes. Open full-size map.

Three county parks to test your routine
Use these county parks to test an outing from the address you are considering. Check the current gate hours, fees, closures and route before visiting. The CDP map is a separate statistical boundary.
Downs Park
A county park beside Chesapeake Bay with paved and natural trails and a fishing pier.
Compare the home itself and its service arrangements separately from the park.
Daily travel
Test the route to 830 Pasadena Road and the particular facility you will use.
Before choosing
As checked October 1, 2026, dredging may restrict lakeside fishing/hiking and restrooms are temporarily closed. Recheck before a visit.
04 /
Inspect the whole property and agreement
Housing statistics give context but do not describe the building you will occupy. Walk every space you need to use: the main living rooms, stairs, storage, basement or garage where present, and the path between parking and the entrance. Check that furniture fits both the opening and the turn beyond it. Include how deliveries and ordinary visitors will reach the door.
For a purchase, ask about utility connections, maintenance records, drainage and the access surface. Verify relevant flood information for the parcel through official mapping and qualified property advice before relying on an attractive waterfront description. Water proximity does not establish a specific flood risk or the condition of a driveway.
For a rental, identify who handles accounts, waste, common entrances and repairs. Obtain move rules, any required booking and the contact for key handover. In a shared household or HOA community, distinguish private parking from a shared court and obtain authorization for any common area you intend to use.
For downsizing, compare usable storage and the largest possessions with the receiving rooms before packing everything. If working from home, confirm internet availability and installation timing at the address. An advertised service area is not evidence of a working connection in the room you will use.
Include hobby materials and less-used rooms in your inventory.
05 /
Test the journey and the available travel options
Test your actual work, school, care and shopping trips at the hours you will keep. Include the return journey, parking and the route between the stop or car and the entrance. An average commute statistic is not a promise of travel time to Baltimore, Annapolis or Fort Meade, and a regional anchor page is not a local office.
Public options deserve a specific check. The county’s route directory lists Route 201 between Arundel Mills and Pasadena and directs riders to current Passio GO information. MDOT MTA’s Route 70 page names Patapsco Station–Annapolis. Check the relevant direction, stop, operating day and current alerts; confirm the live timetable for your actual journey.
The county also offers North County Call N’ Ride, with advance booking and a defined service area. Its page lists Monday–Saturday operation and requests at least two hours’ notice. Confirm the precise pickup, destination, return booking and any mobility requirements with the operator at 410-222-0025. A north-county mailing address does not establish that every requested trip is covered.
If travel without a car is essential, test the whole connection before committing to the address. Do not combine county fare-free information with MTA as though the operators shared one fare rule. For paratransit, ask separately about eligibility and reservations; an on-demand booking system is not a guarantee of door-to-door access for everyone.
Prepare the personal trip as well as the moving shipment.

Confirm assignment before starting enrollment
Use AACPS with the exact residence address. The historical school directory contains Pasadena-area schools including Chesapeake Bay Middle/Chesapeake High and Northeast Middle/Northeast High; it cannot assign a child to one of those schools. The current AACPS enrollment page links its school locator and says assignment follows the current address.
For a transfer, notify the current school and request a withdrawal or transfer packet. Follow the three current enrollment steps: collect the documents for your situation, select the appropriate school year and complete the online form, then respond to confirmation and any registrar follow-up. Required uploads must be completed before the form can be submitted. The page currently names the 2026–2027 enrollment year; recheck the displayed year when you apply.
The district provides different documentation routes for birth/adoptive parents, guardians, foster families, international students and other circumstances. Its birth/adoptive-parent page lists residence evidence, evidence of birth and medical records, with additional documents when applicable. A homeowner or leaseholder and a family living in someone else’s residence may need different residence paperwork. Use the applicable checklist rather than assuming two ordinary bills will cover every case.
Pre-K has its own application guidance and should not be confused with guaranteed placement. Ask the assigned school about the child’s start date, records, services and transport. AACPS says submitted forms can require further information and later hard copies. If your situation does not fit the standard steps, contact the school for a Pupil Personnel Worker; language support is available through a Bilingual Facilitator.

Verify service, billing and who submits the change
The county Bureau of Utility Operations runs public water and wastewater systems for its connected customers. Confirm whether each service reaches the property and what private systems, if any, the owner maintains. A CDP or ZIP boundary does not establish connection, and county customer totals do not show that every Pasadena parcel is served.
The billing page explains metered water and wastewater calculations and quarterly flat-rate billing for sewer-only customers. Check the actual account arrangement rather than applying a general rate to your home. Ask who receives the bill, whether it is included in rent and how readings and responsibility will be handled at possession.
The county requires a form for billing name or address changes. A new-owner change is submitted by the new owner or title company; a tenant change must be submitted by the property owner. Coordinate with the responsible party early and ask the billing unit at 410-222-1144 which form applies. A name change, an existing connected account and a new physical connection are different operations.
As checked October 1, 2026, the change page says the Glen Burnie cashier office is temporarily closed for construction and lists alternatives. Verify that notice before traveling. Arrange electric, gas where used, internet and any service appointments directly for the address. Keep the providers’ confirmations and the property contact available for arrival day.
08 /
Plan disposal and unpacking against the actual service
For a county-served property, use Curbside Collection to establish the collection day and current holiday or weather changes. The county collects recycling, yard waste and trash for a majority of county households; confirm your building’s arrangement rather than extending that statement to every address or business.
Ordinary trash is limited to four containers per week, with loaded containers no heavier than 40 pounds. The guidance calls for set-out before 6 a.m. and says to leave the recycling cart at the old home when moving. Keep set-out away from the loading route and parked vehicles. A landlord or manager may control the collection system for a shared building.
For large items, distinguish categories before setting anything out: up to three large trash items on the weekly day; large metal and appliances by appointment, with only the requested items collected. Scheduled metal must be accessible at the curb by 6 a.m.; cancellations require 48 hours’ notice. Construction materials and lumber are not curbside bulky trash. Use the county’s item-specific disposal lookup and confirm facility eligibility before transporting a load.
During unpacking, keep clean cardboard and accepted recyclables separate. Plastic bags and film are not accepted in curbside recycling; neither is polystyrene. Do not fill a cardboard box with ordinary trash. Check other materials through the county’s rules rather than treating every packing supply as recyclable.
List items you will keep, donate or dispose of before packing. Schedule the appointment and any separate trip with enough time to finish before you lose access to the old property. More than three large trash items may require another collection day or a confirmed alternative; a weekend cleanout is not automatically covered by the next pickup.

Resolve the loading position before arrival
Identify who controls the entrance, driveway, parking court and road. Ask the owner or manager to confirm the move window and usable loading position. For a public-road question, establish whether the road is county-maintained, state-maintained or private and use the appropriate authority. Do not infer a parking permission from an absent online instruction.
Confirm vehicle approach, turning space and the carry from the agreed position. Keep collection access and pedestrian routes clear. Record an alternative with the person who can authorize it if possession or a parked vehicle changes the plan.
10 /
Walk the entire route to the receiving room
Walk the route with the expected possessions in mind. A step-free front door can lead to a narrow turn, a split-level stair or a blocked receiving room. Record the actual surfaces, thresholds and changes of level. Check the route after rain or snow if conditions could alter the driveway or steps.
Agree who will supply keys and clear the loading area, and give the mover a contact for access problems. If the first position cannot be used, the alternative should identify where the vehicle goes and how the carry changes. The moving page turns these details into the job’s access review.
11 /
Build a routine from verified public destinations
Use the public-place notes below to test outings, not to rank residential neighborhoods. Downs Park publishes trails and bay access; Fort Smallwood Park describes a pier, trails and separate water activities. Check gate times, entry passes and the rules for the activity you actually plan.
Lake Waterford Park currently warns of limited lakeside fishing/hiking access during dredging and temporarily closed restrooms. Those notices were checked October 1, 2026 and may change. Ask the park office at 410-222-6248 before relying on a particular facility.
The Riviera Beach Library lists its current address at 1130 Duvall Highway and provides computers, Wi-Fi and other services. Check branch hours and card or activity requirements directly. Its page also names North County Call N’ Ride as a transportation option; confirm the trip with the operator.
For the first week, establish the grocery, prescription, care and household-supply trips you actually need. Verify hours and availability rather than choosing an address from an assumed “everything nearby” description. A park or library address is a starting point for testing your route, not a guarantee of walking distance or access from your home.
Check the actual route, gate hours and activity rules before a visit.
12 /
Assign clearing and keep a weather alternative
Check the property route before a move in wet or winter weather. Arrange responsibility for the driveway, steps and shared entrance with the owner or manager. Clear loose leaves and other obstacles, and keep snow out of the street and away from needed access.
The county’s current snow page requires sidewalks in front of and alongside properties to be cleared within 24 hours after snowfall below three inches and within 48 hours at three inches or more. The page links the governing measure and gives separate advice for driveways. These deadlines do not guarantee that an entrance will be clear at the household’s booked loading time.
Use the county’s street-responsibility tool for road plowing and current notices for any service delay. County roads, state roads, private areas and HOA responsibilities differ. After significant storms, bus stops, pedestrian facilities and collection may remain affected even when a road is passable.
Keep a practical alternative for a delayed closing, bad access or a changed moving date. Name the contact, the possessions that must stay with you and any storage arrangement. For urgent travel or service questions, follow the current operator or county notice instead of an old timetable or a general seasonal claim.
Check leaves, steps and the property route before loading.

Work from the address decision through the first month
Before committing to the address
Verify the property’s service responsibilities, usable rooms, access and necessary trips. Confirm school assignment or care arrangements where relevant. If work depends on internet, obtain an address-specific installation answer. Record unresolved matters and the person who can settle each one.
Before the moving date
Coordinate possession and keys, account changes, appointments and the moving booking. Gather the enrollment documents that apply to your family. Agree on loading and receiving access. Separate possessions going to storage, a second destination or disposal, and arrange collection before access to the old home ends.
On arrival
Keep essential supplies and documents available. Check that the agreed utilities and entrance can be used, show the crew the room plan and preserve a clear route. Contact the responsible property or service owner early if a problem affects the planned delivery.
In the following weeks
Confirm collection and recycling arrangements, finish school and account follow-ups and test the ordinary weekday routine. Recheck temporary notices before a park or cashier-office visit. Maintain the provider confirmations and moving documents so questions can be resolved with the appropriate owner.
For handling and transport, continue to Pasadena moving services with the confirmed inventory, route and dates.

Questions before you arrive
Does a Pasadena mailing address establish the CDP boundary?
No. Confirm the actual parcel and service owner. The map shows Census GEOID 2460475, not the whole ZIP or a utility, school or moving-service territory.
Does the guide assign a school to my child?
No. Use the locator linked by AACPS with the current residence address, then follow the documentation route that applies to your household.
Is every home on county water and sewer?
Do not assume so. Ask the property owner and Bureau of Utility Operations about the actual connections, private systems where applicable and billing responsibilities.
Who submits a tenant billing change?
The county’s change instructions say a tenant change must be submitted by the property owner. Coordinate with the landlord; ask the billing unit which form applies.
Can I rely on transit without testing the route?
Check the exact stops, service day, return journey and access. The county lists Route 201 and North County Call N’ Ride; MDOT MTA Route 70 is a separate operator. Eligibility, coverage and booking rules require confirmation.
Are all park facilities available now?
Recheck current notices. As checked October 1, 2026, Lake Waterford has lakeside access restrictions and closed restrooms during work.
Will county plowing clear my entrance by moving time?
A road service target does not promise a usable private entrance. Confirm the street owner and arrange clearing of the property route with the responsible owner or manager.
What should I do if closing is delayed?
Contact the mover and receiving property early. Agree on dates, storage, essentials traveling with you and the person who can authorize redelivery.
