Moving services in Beaver, WV
A move in Beaver starts with the belongings, the two properties and the date when the receiving address becomes usable. Sterling Oakbridge can help with household or commercial moving, packing and storage. Send the job details early so we can review the route, preparation and timing with you.

Choose the work you need
A house move, an apartment delivery, a storage pickup and an office relocation need different plans even when the addresses are close together. Tell us which parts you want handled and where your own preparation ends. We can review a complete shipment or an agreed smaller job without guessing from a bedroom count.
Sterling Oakbridge provides local and interstate household moves, commercial moving, packing and storage. Choose the work you need, then let us review the inventory, access and timing for your estimate.
| Moving help | What we can include | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| Local residential moving | Loading, transport, delivery and basic furniture disassembly and reassembly | Both addresses, inventory, dates and the route through each property |
| Interstate moving | Pickup, transport and delivery arrangements, with storage when needed | Destination, date constraints and the person receiving the shipment |
| Commercial moving | Office and business furniture, equipment and agreed preparation, including moves with building restrictions | Business type, equipment list, building rules and the work schedule to protect |
| Packing and unpacking | Selected-item or full packing, preparation before move day and optional box unpacking | What you will pack and what you want us to prepare |
| Storage and staged delivery | Storage between addresses and an agreed receiving and delivery plan | Expected dates, contents and anything you need to access during storage |
| Designer and hotel furniture receiving | Receiving, storage and delivery of furniture to an agreed plan | Expected shipments, delivery instructions and the final receiving site |
For Beaver, include the full physical address and receiving instructions. A Beaver mailing address may describe a location beyond the Census CDP. The existing Beckley moving page is a regional service reference; it does not establish a Beaver office, a driving time or availability on your chosen date.
If the move combines a home and a business, separate the inventories and receiving contacts. Describe any second pickup, storage unit, delayed delivery or item that needs specialist attention before the estimate. The useful result is a scope you can check against the actual job.

Give the planning team one complete starting picture
Start with the information below. An incomplete floor plan or a missing measurement should not delay initial contact; flag what still needs checking. The team can identify the review needed before the plan is settled.
| Detail | What to send | Why it changes the job |
|---|---|---|
| Shipment | Room-by-room furniture and carton list, loose items and clear photographs | Volume, handling and staffing |
| Work | Full or partial packing, furniture tasks, unpacking, removal and special items | Preparation time, materials and specialist scope |
| Properties | Both physical addresses, floors, stairs, lifts, entrance and parking photos | Vehicle approach and carrying route |
| Timing | Desired dates, possession time, access windows and deadline to leave | Feasible sequence and fallback |
| People | Building instructions and authorized contacts at each end | Approvals and receiving decisions |
Let the scope determine the survey
A clear item list may be enough for a small, straightforward job. More belongings, full packing, specialist items or restricted access can call for a video review or an in-person visit. Floor area helps describe the property, but the contents and work matter too.
Start by sending what you know. Our move-planning team will recommend the right level of review so the estimate reflects the job. You do not need to choose a survey method or work out every measurement before contacting us.
The survey helps us choose staffing, time and preparation for the actual job. The person reviewing your move is not necessarily part of the moving crew.
Photograph the least obvious items as well as the main rooms: a workshop machine, contents behind a garage door, a loft or cartons in a storage unit. Note what will stay. If you are still deciding whether to keep a large item, give the decision date so the estimate can be updated while there is time.
03 /
Read the estimate as a scope and a charging method
Local moves: estimated hours, not a fixed total
Most local moves are priced by working time. Your estimate sets out the hourly basis, any minimum hours and the work and materials to be charged separately. Estimated hours help us plan the crew and whether the work can fit the proposed day; they are not a maximum charge or a promise that the move will finish within that time.
A move estimated at six hours may take eight if traffic delays the truck, an elevator is shared rather than reserved, packing is unfinished or the inventory or plan changes. Tell us about changes early. If the work needs preparation on another day or a separate delivery stage, we will review those arrangements with you. Charging follows the written terms for the move.
Long-distance flat rates: the same scope, the same price
For a long-distance move quoted at a flat rate, the agreed price stays the same when the shipment and agreed work stay the same. Added belongings, omitted items, extra packing or changed access and delivery requirements can change the scope and price. Keep the inventory, packing responsibilities and pickup and delivery conditions in writing, and have additions reviewed before the affected work begins.
Ask the written estimate to distinguish the planned work, likely labor time, any minimum, boxes, specialist operations and separately priced removal. Compare quotations using the same shipment and access information. A low number based on fewer tasks is a different offer.
Tell us about added furniture, another stop, unfinished packing or a new delivery restriction before move day. The plan should be revised while the team can still assess the change. Keep the estimate and the accepted changes accessible to the person making decisions at the property.
If a sale or rental handover is uncertain, give the earliest usable arrival time and the last time you must vacate. Travel distance alone cannot resolve that conflict. Identify who can authorize storage or a revised delivery, when that decision must be made and which charges would change.
04 /
Trace the route from the vehicle to the final room
Walk the proposed route in both properties. Count actual steps, identify tight turns and photograph the entrance you are allowed to use. A front path shown in a listing may differ from the service entrance or the route to a basement room.
Include door openings, stair landings, railings, ceiling obstructions and the narrowest turn for bulky pieces. If disassembly seems necessary, show the furniture and its connections. Leave the handling method to the review rather than assuming an item will fit because it came through a door years ago.
For a detached home, describe the drive surface, slope, turning space, overhead branches and the distance from the proposed standing position. Confirm that the owner permits the vehicle there. Do not plan across soft grass, a septic field or an unknown underground structure simply because it appears open.
For a rental or shared building, ask which door, lift and hours apply; name the management contact. A staircase reserved for residents may not be the approved carrying route. Send the instructions as received so the planning team can reconcile them with the job.

05 /
Confirm standing space and public-road questions
Identify the actual truck position before relying on a curb, shoulder or shared driveway. Keep visibility, the remaining passage, turning room and the path to the door in view. A nearby parking space for a car does not establish a suitable moving-truck position.
We can coordinate building COIs, moving-truck permit arrangements, elevator scheduling and moves that require union labor. Send the building instructions and management contact early. We can also arrange materials and packing before the carrying window when the property permits that access.
The agreed plan should identify who submits each request, who approves it and which municipal or building charges apply. An application is one step; the required access and time still need confirmation.
Beaver’s Census outline is not a municipal loading permit. For a state-maintained approach, WVDOH District 10 is the current district covering Raleigh County. Ask the responsible road authority about a proposed occupation of public space; use the property manager for private land. A permit application or a building booking does not by itself confirm the required access.
Have a second feasible standing position reviewed if the preferred place depends on someone moving a vehicle or opening a gate. Record who can resolve the obstruction and how the change affects the carrying distance. For a storage stop, ask about gate access, aisle width, vehicle hours and the person receiving or releasing the contents.

06 /
Prepare one coherent packing plan
Decide what you will pack and what you want us to handle. Full packing can require an earlier work period; selected-item packing needs a clear list of fragile or awkward belongings. Arrange access for preparation before the main carrying window when the property allows it.
Sort what is moving, staying, being stored or awaiting a separate disposal arrangement. Keep those groups distinct. Pack books in the small 1.5-cubic-foot Book cartons; do not fill a larger linen carton with books. Label cartons for the destination room and flag fragile contents without placing a private inventory on a visible exterior label.
Keep identification, keys, essential medicines, chargers and the personal items needed overnight with you. Agree a secure way to handle valuables and important records. Tell the team about fragile collections, artwork and items whose packaging needs an individual method.
Labor, materials and optional work
| Item or task | How it is charged |
|---|---|
| Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly | Part of your moving labor time, without a separate basic assembly fee |
| Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape | No separate charge for these basic protection materials |
| Boxes supplied for your move | Charged separately |
| Packing | Charged for working time; boxes are separate |
| Unwrapping furniture | Part of delivery |
| Unpacking the contents of boxes | Optional work, charged for working time |
| Packaging and waste removal | Charged separately |
| Complex furniture and other specialist work | Individually quoted after review |
Tell us which tasks you want completed and which materials you need. Your estimate should distinguish moving labor, boxes, specialist work and removal charges.
If you need time to finish packing, say so before the crew arrives. A workable arrangement might be earlier preparation or a smaller agreed shipment first. Cartons stacked on the access path can slow an otherwise straightforward job, so leave the carrying route clear.

07 /
Review furniture and specialist handling
Show the whole item, its fragile parts and the route, not just a close photograph of its finish. State any previous damage, missing hardware or connection that needs careful handling. Choose the final room before large pieces are delivered so avoidable second carries do not fill the day.
Specialist services by individual quote
| What needs attention | Work available for review |
|---|---|
| Complex furniture | Bunk beds, Murphy beds, large flat-pack wardrobes and specialist sofa disassembly and reassembly |
| Heavy items | Pianos and grand pianos, safes, gym equipment and pool tables |
| Art and collections | Fine-art handling, soft packing, custom crates and crating to an agreed museum or collection specification |
| Hanging and installation | Pictures, mirrors, wall-mounted TVs, curtain hardware and chandeliers, with the removal, installation and any technical work scoped separately |
| Business equipment | Office furniture systems, restaurant refrigerators and ranges, and industrial equipment assessed for the specific item and route |
Send photographs, dimensions, make or model where relevant, and the route through both properties. Describe exactly what needs to be taken apart, moved or installed. We review the method and required work before providing an individual quote.
Choose protection before the move
Discuss the basic liability option and higher protection available at an additional charge before moving day. Have the selected level, cost, limits and claims process recorded in your moving documents. Tell us about artwork and other high-value items in advance so their declared values and any special requirements can be reviewed.
For interstate household-goods moves, Full Value Protection applies unless you select Released Value through the required written waiver. Valuation is the mover’s level of liability; it is different from a separate insurance policy. Review the FMCSA explanation of liability and protection and the terms for your particular move.
For a TV, chandelier, wardrobe or gym machine, describe whether the work is removal, moving, installation or several operations. Make or model and the receiving wall or room can matter. Availability of specialist work is not an agreement to perform every technical operation with the moving crew.
Have pets and children away from the active route and give the receiving person authority to confirm placement. Inspect the delivery and record any issue through the agreed process while the relevant details can still be checked.

08 /
Keep the business move connected to reopening
List desks, shelving, stock and equipment by destination area. Identify what must remain available until the last working period and what can leave earlier. A staged plan needs its own sequence and receiving person for each part.
Coordinate building access and any COI with the manager. Include the vendor’s delivery instructions, security procedure and loading location. For a new commercial use or building work, direct the property question to the Raleigh County Building Code Office; furniture delivery does not establish authorization to occupy or alter the site.
IT transport and disconnection are available; arrange reconnection and system startup with your IT team. Crane work is outside our service scope.
We can also quote island moves, recycling, move-out cleaning and car shipping. For an island destination, provide the exact address so the vehicle or freight crossing, receiving arrangements and final delivery can be reviewed together.
Give your IT team responsibility for reconnection and testing. Label equipment by the receiving workspace and arrange the time when technical staff can enter. For records or stock, agree packing, access and handling before treating it as ordinary loose office material.
Hotel or designer furniture receiving needs expected shipment dates, quantities, storage requirements and a final receiving plan. If supplier dates change, revise that plan before scheduling the final delivery. Do not promise a zero-interruption reopening before the dependencies have been tested.
09 /
Arrange a fallback before possession slips
Storage or staged delivery can help when the old address must be vacated before the new one is ready. Decide what goes to storage, what remains with you and what might be needed before redelivery. A household’s first-night essentials should not be buried in the stored shipment.
Give the planning team the expected duration, uncertain handover dates and receiving restrictions. Agree the storage and redelivery scope, access arrangements and charges in writing. An open-ended closing date needs a point at which someone checks the plan again.
Direct and consolidated long-distance moving
Our direct long-distance service uses a dedicated truck and the same moving crew at pickup and delivery. For a suitable small shipment, ask about consolidated delivery with a wider agreed receiving window. We serve destinations throughout the United States and Canada. Confirm pickup, delivery and any storage stages in the written move plan. The planning team performs a separate role from the moving crew.
Keep the person releasing keys, the person receiving the shipment and the decision contact reachable. If the property is unavailable, use the agreed fallback instead of sending a crew to wait without instructions. A spare key helps only if it actually opens the approved entry and the receiving space is ready.
10 /
Start while there is still room to change the plan
Ask about a feasible date as soon as the move becomes likely. The owner’s practical experience is that summer, month-end into the first few days of the next month and mid-month can be busier. This is planning experience, not a Beaver-specific guarantee of availability or price.
Once a date is agreed, work backward from the handover: packing completion, property instructions, special-item review and any third-party collection. Set a separate deadline for deciding whether an unwanted item leaves through disposal, resale or another arrangement. Leaving that decision to the final morning can change the shipment.
Before delivery, confirm the access window, weather preparation and contact. Ask who clears the private drive, steps and path after snow. Tell us if the approach or standing area changes. For the household’s wider arrival tasks, use the Beaver moving-to guide, which separates utilities, schools and everyday services from the physical move.
Contact Sterling Oakbridge with what you know. We can review the remaining questions with you and turn the inventory, access and timing into a concrete moving plan.

Questions before you move
Do you need every measurement before I contact you?
Start with both addresses, the inventory, desired date and photographs. Flag missing details. The move-planning team will decide whether an item list, video review or an in-person survey is needed.
Does an estimated number of hours guarantee completion?
No. A local estimate and minimum are different from a fixed total. Read the charging method and scope; changed access, readiness or added work can change the duration.
Are basic protection materials separate charges?
Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly use your moving labor time without a separate basic assembly fee. Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape have no separate material charge. Boxes are charged separately. Complex furniture and specialist work receive individual quotes.
Can you unpack cartons and remove packaging?
Furniture is unwrapped as part of delivery. We can also unpack the contents of boxes as optional work charged for time. Packaging and waste removal are charged separately; include the help you want in your request.
Can a Beaver mailing address establish the truck’s permission to stand?
No. Confirm the exact property and road owner, the proposed position and any required approval. A postal name or Census boundary does not grant access.
Can you reconnect an office network after transport?
Arrange reconnection and startup with your IT team. IT disconnection and transport can be reviewed separately in the agreed scope.
What if I cannot receive the shipment when planned?
Notify the planning team early. Agree storage or a staged delivery, who can authorize the change and its timing and charges before relying on that fallback.
Is the Beckley page evidence of a Beaver office?
It is an existing regional service page. It does not establish an office in Beaver, a travel time or a confirmed move date.
