Use the full address to turn a move to Beaver into a workable everyday routine. Housing, school enrollment, utility service and a trip to work each have their own checks. This guide concerns Beaver in Raleigh County, West Virginia, and points to the organizations that can resolve those questions.
Test your own route and the final approach before arrival.

Locate the home before choosing the next office
Beaver is a Census designated place in Raleigh County. The map below shows the statistical CDP boundary, not an incorporated town, the whole county or postal ZIP 25813. It cannot assign a school, establish utility coverage or determine a parcel’s flood exposure.
A site with a Beaver mailing address may lie beyond the outline. Keep the physical address, unit and parcel information separate from the postal name. For public services, start with the organization responsible for the particular question rather than assuming a Beaver town office handles every request.
The county’s Public Service District directory lists several different districts. A directory contact helps you find the provider; it does not prove that provider serves the house. Ask the owner for the current accounts and confirm service directly before moving.
Choose the questions that determine the address’s usefulness to you: a reliable work journey, a usable entrance, room for a home office, school support or access to familiar services. Visit with those needs in mind. The regional destinations below offer places to explore, not an invented set of residential districts.

Three regional places for different first-week needs
These destinations serve different first-week needs. Their mailing addresses do not place every site inside the CDP boundary. Choose the entrance and actual activity before planning the trip.
Little Beaver State Park
A lake-and-trail outing with its own state-park arrangements.
The official listing describes a 562-acre park, an 18-acre lake and nearly 20 miles of trails. Pick a specific short outing instead of treating that total as one easy walk.
Getting there
The park gives 1402 Grandview Road, Beaver. Plan the actual entrance and return; its postal address is not proof that the park is inside the CDP outline.
Before visiting
The listing publishes 6 a.m.–10 p.m. park hours; campground season is spring through fall, weather permitting. Confirm current conditions and facilities before going.
Grandview, New River Gorge
A National Park Service overlook and walking destination.
NPS describes overlooks, five hiking trails and picnic areas with playgrounds. Choose the specific activity and check its route; a dramatic overlook is not an accessibility assessment.
Getting there
The official physical address is 4700 Grandview Road, Beaver. This is a regional destination, not the CDP neighborhood or a promised commute from home.
Before visiting
The area is open year-round, while the visitor center normally opens June–August and closes fall through spring. Check current alerts and any shelter reservation separately.
Shady Spring Branch Library
A regional stop for reading, internet access and a practical first-week task.
The branch describes books, digital resources, computers, Wi-Fi and study seating. Confirm any particular program or service rather than assuming a place is available.
Getting there
Its address is 440 Flat Top Road, Shady Spring, not Beaver CDP. Test the trip from your own home and check the branch’s current hours.
Before visiting
Posted hours are weekdays 9–5 and 10–2 on the first and third Saturday. Read the system’s card requirements and ask staff about documents that fit your arrival circumstances.

Inspect the home through ordinary daily use
For a rental, read the lease for utilities, parking, pets, alterations and move-in access. Identify the person who can release keys, explain building rules and receive a maintenance request. Photograph the agreed condition and obtain a dated inventory or handover record before cartons hide the floors and walls.
For a purchase, keep inspection, closing, possession and the physical move as distinct dates. Ask qualified professionals about the property’s systems, drainage and intended changes. The county Building Code Office publishes its portal and contact; a listing’s description or a submitted payment does not establish an approval for new work.
Raleigh County’s Floodplain Management page directs owners to contact the office to determine whether a property is in the floodplain. Check the actual parcel and the approach as well as the home. The CDP outline is not a flood map, and a dry visit does not resolve past water-entry questions.
Measure the spaces that matter: the bed and circulation around it, a desk with power and the doorway for retained furniture. For downsizing, decide what has a useful place before shipping it. Storage is a separate plan, not a substitute for those decisions.
For remote work, confirm the internet option at the unit, an installation date and a backup for the first working day. For mobility needs, test the entrance, steps, bathroom and internal circulation with the person who will use them. A broad accessibility description can leave practical questions unanswered.
Leave enough room to use the home while unpacking.
04 /
Test the full outward and return journey
Choose an ordinary day and test the route to work, school, shopping or an appointment from the actual home. Include the last stretch, parking and the return journey. A regional road’s proximity does not establish a short or predictable commute.
New River Transit Authority is the regional public-transport starting point. Its route and service details could not be confirmed in this research because the current site was access-limited. Ask the operator about the exact Beaver pickup, day, destination, return time, booking procedure and fare before making a bus trip the household’s only option.
A route description without a current date does not confirm today’s departure, eligibility or reservation rule. If an early shift or late return matters, obtain that specific answer and arrange an alternative while it is unresolved.
For driving, look up current work zones and conditions close to an important trip. WVDOH District 10 covers Raleigh County and links district work-zone information. An old construction plan is different from a present closure. For walking or cycling, inspect crossings, the actual verge or path and the after-dark portion of the route.
Keep keys, navigation, a charger and the household’s overnight essentials with the personal travel plan. Those items should remain available if the furniture delivery is delayed. Arrange who collects a child or assists a household member if the primary trip becomes unavailable.
Keep personal arrival transport separate from the furniture delivery.

Follow the current enrollment path and its next step
Start at Raleigh County Schools’ Enroll Now page. It separates K–12 new and returning students, Pre-K, virtual learning and school-transfer requests. Choose the path for the child’s situation; a transfer request is a different process from ordinary new enrollment.
The linked 2026–2027 K–12 form asks for physical address and previous school details. It says a receipt email is immediate and a school representative follows up within five business days during the school year to finalize enrollment. Keep the receipt and follow up if that contact does not arrive.
The form lists immunization records, a Vital Statistics birth certificate and two proofs of physical residency; the Social Security card is recommended. Kindergarten has well and dental checks, and entry from homeschool or private school calls for transcripts. Submission does not automatically establish athletic eligibility.
Confirm the receiving school, first attendance day, bus arrangements and support needs directly. The Beaver map and postal address are not attendance-zone tools. Pre-K, after-school care and holiday supervision require their own confirmed arrangements.
06 /
Confirm providers, account holders and effective dates
Ask for the existing provider and account responsibility for water, sewer, electricity, heat and internet. Record the requested start and stop dates, any appointment and the person authorized to arrange it. A new owner or tenant needs usable service, not just an unconfirmed application.
Raleigh County PSD’s water-service page asks applicants for signed photo ID, the physical address, the last four Social Security digits and a telephone number; renters provide the owner’s name and telephone, and owners provide their deed. Its policy is labelled as adopted in March 1999, so confirm current fees and the procedure before applying. A new tap is not the same operation as taking over an existing account.
Shady Spring PSD identifies itself as a sewer provider, publishes application and termination-request links, and gives 304-255-1565 for its office. Its physical office is 144 Grandview Road, Daniels, although its mailing address is Beaver. Confirm service at the home and the effective termination date separately from water.
The county directory is useful if the provider is unclear. For a private well or septic system, ask the property owner and qualified inspector for the actual records, maintenance and any issue requiring local approval. Do not infer a system from the absence of an account in one directory.
Schedule technical installation when someone can provide access. Test internet, heat and essential lighting before relying on them for the first night or workday. Keep account contacts in your arrival folder and review final bills after leaving the previous address.
07 /
Make a separate destination for packaging and unwanted items
Confirm regular trash collection with the landlord, association or serving hauler. Ask about the first collection date, containers, the collection point and the charge. The county recycling facility is not evidence of automatic curbside service at every Beaver address.
Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority’s recycling page lists cardboard, newspaper, office paper and several metals and plastic types among accepted materials. It publishes Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. recycling hours and lists holiday closures. Check the current page before loading, and separate film, foam and other packaging that is not covered by the stated material list.
The authority’s home page distinguishes landfill, recycling and Last Chance Mercantile schedules. Ask about the exact mattress, appliance, battery or bulky item and the required preparation, destination, unloading and fee. A general accepted-material category is not enough to treat every item as free disposal.
Choose reuse, storage or disposal while there is time for the handoff. Get agreement from everyone who owns the item. Keep the groups apart from the moving shipment and leave the carrying route clear. If a moving provider will remove packaging, agree that work and its separate charge.
08 /
Understand private access and public-road responsibility
Ask who controls the driveway, courtyard, visitor space or delivery entrance. Confirm the precise standing position for the moving vehicle. A shared space may require coordination even when the household has its own parking stall.
Photograph the approach, turning area and path to the door for your moving provider. Include steps, an incline, gate, overhead obstruction and the ground surface. The vehicle plan should avoid blocking the remaining passage or using a surface whose load capacity is unknown.
For a state-maintained road, use WVDOH District 10 as a starting contact about ownership and the proposed use. For private land, obtain the owner’s instructions. No universal Beaver truck-reservation or winter parking rule was verified here; that gap is a reason to resolve the exact position with the responsible authority.
Put the access window, keys and decision contact together. An approved building window may still depend on an external space being clear. Have a workable alternate position or delivery arrangement reviewed before the preferred option becomes unavailable.
09 /
Prepare the first usable evening
Collect and test the actual keys, fob and gate instructions. Confirm any shared entry, service lift or receiving window. Identify one authorized person who can answer questions and place belongings without searching for the manager mid-delivery.
Choose a clear sleeping space, bathroom and a place for essential food and work supplies. Label cartons for those rooms and leave circulation open. Unpacking every room at once can make the home harder to use, particularly if an installer or a maintenance visit is still due.
For a child, pet or person who needs support, arrange a comfortable place away from the active carrying route. Keep daily medicines, documents and contact information in the personal arrival bag. Do not leave a necessary item in storage without an agreed way to retrieve it.
Check the property’s everyday features after placement: a door still opens fully, a chair can be used and a window or utility control remains reachable. Record a maintenance question promptly. The physical delivery and the home becoming functional are connected steps with different dependencies.
10 /
Give weather preparation an owner
Ask who clears the private driveway, porch, steps and path after snow and how soon that work can be done. Check where snow is piled and whether it reduces the truck position or the carrying route. A cleared car stall may still leave an icy entrance.
For a rainy arrival, inspect the actual drainage and keep the path usable. Ask about water-entry history during the property review; do not treat a dry lawn or a general regional description as proof about the home. The county’s floodplain office can help locate the parcel question.
Recheck conditions near an important trip or delivery. If the planned entrance or access window becomes unusable, tell the provider before arrival. Keep a person authorized to choose the alternative and a specific time for making that decision.
Outdoor plans have separate seasonal limits. Little Beaver’s campground is weather-dependent, and the Grandview visitor center normally closes for fall, winter and spring even though the area is open year-round. Choose current site information, appropriate clothing and a manageable activity rather than assuming all facilities share one season.
Check current conditions and keep the actual carrying route usable.

Use the first week to build an ordinary routine
Begin with the outstanding account action, school contact and a tested shopping or work journey. Allow time for an office visit that needs another document. Confirm hours and the location before leaving; the provider’s physical office may differ from its mailing address.
Shady Spring Branch Library lists 440 Flat Top Road and offers public computers, Wi-Fi and study seating. It publishes weekday hours and limited Saturday opening; check the day you intend to visit. The regional library can be useful while a home internet appointment is still being arranged.
Read the library’s card requirements before applying. Adults can use photo ID with current address or the listed alternative documents; a parent or guardian signs for a child under 18. Out-of-state applicants have a separate deposit-card path. If entering the building is difficult, ask the director about options.
Choose a park outing that suits the household’s energy and mobility, using the distinct destinations below. A short lake visit and a gorge overlook have different approaches and conditions. They give you something useful to learn about the region without turning the first week into a schedule of attractions.
After a few ordinary days, adjust the room layout and errands to what works. If the physical move is still being arranged, the Beaver moving-services page covers the estimate, packing, access and storage plan.
Confirm the branch, opening hours and documents for a library card.

Questions before you arrive
Does Beaver ZIP 25813 match the CDP map?
No. The map is the Census statistical boundary for Beaver CDP. Mailing addresses and regional destinations can extend beyond it; use the exact property for school, utility and parcel checks.
Which school does the map assign to my child?
It assigns none. Use the district’s current enrollment path and confirm the receiving school, start day and transport using the physical address.
Is the enrollment receipt a confirmed school start?
The K–12 form says the receiving school follows up to finalize enrollment. Keep the receipt, prepare the documents and follow up about the start day and support needs.
Is water termination also sewer termination?
Confirm both with the actual providers. Shady Spring PSD publishes its own sewer termination-request route; do not assume another provider’s account action completes it.
How should I confirm a bus journey?
Obtain the current operator answer for the exact pickup, day, destination and return. Current detailed service was not verified here.
Does recycling access include regular trash pickup?
Confirm collection with the landlord or serving hauler. A regional drop-off facility does not establish curbside arrangements for the address.
Are Grandview and Little Beaver residential neighborhoods?
They are regional recreation destinations. A Beaver mailing address does not make them neighborhoods or establish that they lie inside the CDP.
What if the private drive is not cleared for delivery?
Contact the provider before arrival and use the agreed alternative. Assign responsibility for clearing and for deciding a change while there is time to act.
