Movers in Cherry Hill, NJ
Move the belongings you are keeping, with the preparation and access each address needs. Sterling Oakbridge plans your Cherry Hill packing, carrying routes, transport and delivery together.
01 /
Plan the home, the contents and the receiving address
A Cherry Hill move can start in a detached home with several short stair flights, a condominium with common access, or an apartment where the loading position and elevator belong to the building. The useful starting point is the actual route and the work you want finished. Sterling Oakbridge can move the agreed furniture and cartons, pack selected contents or prepare the full household, and arrange storage when the two addresses are not ready together.
This page concerns Cherry Hill Township in Camden County, New Jersey. Give the complete pickup and delivery addresses, including the unit and municipality. A short move into Philadelphia still crosses a state line; it needs an interstate plan rather than an assumption that every nearby trip uses New Jersey intrastate terms.
The township's planning documents are a useful starting point for understanding an address and its surrounding land uses. They do not confirm the current floor plan or a building's loading arrangements. Show us the actual rooms, garage, basement and storage areas that contain belongings, including spaces you use only occasionally.

Choose the moving help you need
Sterling Oakbridge provides local and interstate household moves, commercial moving, packing and storage. Choose the work you need, then let us review the inventory, access and timing for your estimate.
| Moving help | What we can include | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| Local residential moving | Loading, transport, delivery and basic furniture disassembly and reassembly | Both addresses, inventory, dates and the route through each property |
| Interstate moving | Pickup, transport and delivery arrangements, with storage when needed | Destination, date constraints and the person receiving the shipment |
| Commercial moving | Office and business furniture, equipment and agreed preparation, including moves with building restrictions | Business type, equipment list, building rules and the work schedule to protect |
| Packing and unpacking | Selected-item or full packing, preparation before move day and optional box unpacking | What you will pack and what you want us to prepare |
| Storage and staged delivery | Storage between addresses and an agreed receiving and delivery plan | Expected dates, contents and anything you need to access during storage |
| Designer and hotel furniture receiving | Receiving, storage and delivery of furniture to an agreed plan | Expected shipments, delivery instructions and the final receiving site |
Make the division of work explicit. A move with owner-packed cartons, a kitchen packed by the crew and later box unpacking involves three different responsibilities. Identify what stays at the old address, what travels with you and what belongs in the shipment. If the home is being divided between two destinations, keep those groups distinct before loading.
For a smaller job, describe the same things in less volume: the actual pieces, their construction, the floors and the delivery result. “One bedroom” can omit a home office, garage shelving or a lower-level room. An accurate small inventory helps us review a useful scope without inventing work you do not need.
03 /
Include every short flight, landing and outside approach
Review access as one continuous path: room, door, hall, stair or elevator, entrance, outside steps and vehicle. Repeat it at delivery. In a split-level house, a main entrance close to the driveway can still lead to several separate carrying stages. Show the upper and lower rooms, not only the front door.
| Property situation | What changes the work |
|---|---|
| Split-level or multilevel house | Each stair flight, its top and bottom landing, headroom, tight turn and lower-level exit. Include the garage and any separate storage. |
| Condominium or townhome | The unit's private steps and stairs, common approach, association instructions, assigned parking and any shared vehicle route. |
| Apartment building | The authorized door, every elevator on the route, cab and opening dimensions, booking window, corridor turns and management contact. |
| Home with a long or sloping drive | Usable vehicle position, overhead clearance, turning room, slope, surface and the walking distance from that position to the door. |
Photograph a difficult landing from both directions. For an oversized sofa or tall cabinet, send the piece's height, depth and width together with the narrow opening, turning space and ceiling obstruction. A removable door or ordinary furniture disassembly may help, but neither resolves every turn. Review the construction before choosing the handling method.
We can coordinate building COIs, moving-truck permit arrangements, elevator scheduling and moves that require union labor. Send the building instructions and management contact early. We can also arrange materials and packing before the carrying window when the property permits that access.
The agreed plan should identify who submits each request, who approves it and which municipal or building charges apply. An application is one step; the required access and time still need confirmation.
When an elevator is shared, include the expected interruptions in the plan. A reserved loading area does not reserve the elevator, and booking one elevator does not cover a second lift between the loading level and your floor. Name the person who can open each controlled door while the crew is working.

04 /
Agree a lawful vehicle position before dispatch
Start with a driveway or building loading arrangement that its owner has authorized and that the selected vehicle can actually use. For a public street, send the frontage, signs, vehicle details and full working duration. A resident's car space or a clear curb at the viewing is not a reserved moving bay.
Cherry Hill's road ownership list distinguishes state, county and township roads. Route 70 and Route 38 are state roads; several connecting roads have county responsibility. Identify the precise segment before asking which traffic or occupation arrangement applies. For an unresolved street-loading question, start with the township's Traffic Safety Unit and explain the actual operation.
The traffic code prohibits street parking by vehicles with registered gross weights over five tons on county and municipal streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Its separate residential-street weight restriction has a pickup-and-delivery exception. That exception does not cancel overnight parking limits or create a reserved space. Ask about the selected vehicle and address; do not substitute an assumed empty-truck weight.
The township's right-of-way permit page describes work within the right of way, including excavation and curb or sidewalk repairs. It does not establish a blanket moving-truck reservation procedure. Explain whether your plan needs ordinary lawful parking, private access, a traffic obstruction or a street closure so the responsible authority can identify the applicable process.
Keep the walking route, neighboring driveways and usable entrance clear. Include room for the vehicle's working area and the actual unloading method. If the lawful position is farther away than expected, have the carrying distance, equipment and time reviewed before the date. An application or informal suggestion is not confirmation that the proposed position will be available.

05 /
Pack in groups that make sense at the next address
We can pack the agreed household or selected groups, such as dishes, books or fragile contents. Decide which cupboards and rooms you will finish yourself and which you are releasing to the crew. Keep medicines, documents, keys, chargers and the essentials for the first night outside the shipment group.
Dense books belong in manageable cartons, while fragile kitchen contents need their own protection and suitable cartons. Label each group by receiving room and purpose. Where belongings split between the new home and storage, a destination label matters as much as the room name. Keep the route out of the room clear while packing continues.
Labor, materials and optional work
| Item or task | How it is charged |
|---|---|
| Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly | Part of your moving labor time, without a separate basic assembly fee |
| Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape | No separate charge for these basic protection materials |
| Boxes supplied for your move | Charged separately |
| Packing | Charged for working time; boxes are separate |
| Unwrapping furniture | Part of delivery |
| Unpacking the contents of boxes | Optional work, charged for working time |
| Packaging and waste removal | Charged separately |
| Complex furniture and other specialist work | Individually quoted after review |
Tell us which tasks you want completed and which materials you need. Your estimate should distinguish moving labor, boxes, specialist work and removal charges.
Basic furniture disassembly differs from complex dismantling. Tell us about a large wardrobe, built-in unit or unusual joints before move day. Show removable shelves, glass and loose parts so their preparation can be included. A piece attached to the building needs a separate assessment; it is not automatically ordinary freestanding furniture.
Specialist services by individual quote
| What needs attention | Work available for review |
|---|---|
| Complex furniture | Bunk beds, Murphy beds, large flat-pack wardrobes and specialist sofa disassembly and reassembly |
| Heavy items | Pianos and grand pianos, safes, gym equipment and pool tables |
| Art and collections | Fine-art handling, soft packing, custom crates and crating to an agreed museum or collection specification |
| Hanging and installation | Pictures, mirrors, wall-mounted TVs, curtain hardware and chandeliers, with the removal, installation and any technical work scoped separately |
| Business equipment | Office furniture systems, restaurant refrigerators and ranges, and industrial equipment assessed for the specific item and route |
Send photographs, dimensions, make or model where relevant, and the route through both properties. Describe exactly what needs to be taken apart, moved or installed. We review the method and required work before providing an individual quote.

Give business contents a release and restart order
A commercial move can include the agreed office furniture, equipment and business contents. List the rooms that can be released first, the desks that must remain in use and the person authorized to approve each stage. Keep public entrances and other occupants' access separate from the crew's working route.
Have your authorized staff identify restricted records and items traveling outside the moving shipment. Confirm the loading entrance and receiving rooms with both properties, then schedule IT disconnection and transport around that sequence. Arrange reconnection, testing and startup with your IT provider; placing equipment in the new room does not restore a working network.
IT transport and disconnection are available; arrange reconnection and system startup with your IT team. Crane work is outside our service scope.
We can also quote island moves, recycling, move-out cleaning and car shipping. For an island destination, provide the exact address so the vehicle or freight crossing, receiving arrangements and final delivery can be reviewed together.

Compare the same inventory, preparation and finish
Local moves: estimated hours, not a fixed total
Most local moves are priced by working time. Your estimate sets out the hourly basis, any minimum hours and the work and materials to be charged separately. Estimated hours help us plan the crew and whether the work can fit the proposed day; they are not a maximum charge or a promise that the move will finish within that time.
A move estimated at six hours may take eight if traffic delays the truck, an elevator is shared rather than reserved, packing is unfinished or the inventory or plan changes. Tell us about changes early. If the work needs preparation on another day or a separate delivery stage, we will review those arrangements with you. Charging follows the written terms for the move.
Long-distance flat rates: the same scope, the same price
For a long-distance move quoted at a flat rate, the agreed price stays the same when the shipment and agreed work stay the same. Added belongings, omitted items, extra packing or changed access and delivery requirements can change the scope and price. Keep the inventory, packing responsibilities and pickup and delivery conditions in writing, and have additions reviewed before the affected work begins.
For a household move wholly within New Jersey, the Division of Consumer Affairs requires an on-site or virtual survey before the written estimate, together with the required consumer information. An item list starts the discussion and helps prepare the survey. It does not replace that inspection, even for a small household move.
Compare estimates for the same belongings and result. Owner-packed clothes and books can reduce the packing labor you request if those groups are actually ready; furniture handling, carrying routes, transport and agreed minimum or travel terms remain. Add selected fragile packing, boxes and receiving help to both options before comparing the total scope.
A garage, an additional stair flight, a second destination or a longer carry can change the work without changing the number of bedrooms. Tell us when the inventory, access, date or receiving requirements change, and have the affected scope and price reviewed in writing before that work begins.

Connect the pickup to a receiving plan that can work
Direct and consolidated long-distance moving
Our direct long-distance service uses a dedicated truck and the same moving crew at pickup and delivery. For a suitable small shipment, ask about consolidated delivery with a wider agreed receiving window. We serve destinations throughout the United States and Canada. Confirm pickup, delivery and any storage stages in the written move plan. The planning team performs a separate role from the moving crew.
For a move crossing state lines, use the FMCSA consumer resources to understand the interstate documents and the distinction between a carrier and a broker. Keep the transport arrangement, receiving dates and shipment scope in the written plan. New Jersey intrastate rules and interstate terms apply to different routes.
Where belongings go partly to a home and partly to storage, agree both receiving arrangements before pickup. Mark the groups, confirm who can accept them and include the second stop and handling. Compare the later release and delivery from storage as well as the first collection. A contact number for a facility is not an accepted intake appointment.
Choose protection before the move
Discuss the basic liability option and higher protection available at an additional charge before moving day. Have the selected level, cost, limits and claims process recorded in your moving documents. Tell us about artwork and other high-value items in advance so their declared values and any special requirements can be reviewed.
For interstate household-goods moves, Full Value Protection applies unless you select Released Value through the required written waiver. Valuation is the mover’s level of liability; it is different from a separate insurance policy. Review the FMCSA explanation of liability and protection and the terms for your particular move.
09 /
Build the date around possession and usable access
Start with the commitments you cannot move: key handover, possession of the next home, building access and work or school obligations. Give several real date options when you have flexibility. Earlier packing can help a short carrying window if the property permits preparation then; the actual availability, additional visit and charges still need agreement.
For a rental, Cherry Hill requires a rental occupancy inspection before occupancy when tenants change and asks for two weeks for scheduling. For a single-family resale, the township describes a separate exterior Certificate of Continued Occupancy inspection, with some condominium and townhome exclusions, in addition to the fire inspection. These are property processes to resolve with the responsible owner; the moving booking does not complete them.
In winter, the township's snow guidance calls for keeping cars off the street from one hour after snow has continuously fallen until 12 hours after it stops. The traffic code also requires sufficient plowing so parked vehicles will not interfere with traffic. Sidewalks must be cleared within 48 hours after snowfall ends. For the move itself, arrange a usable, cleared private route before the carrying starts. Plowing can leave snow at the driveway apron, so inspect that last connection again before dispatch.
Summer, a month-end lease change or a school break may make a particular date important to your household. Those reasons do not establish a company vacancy or a price reduction. Share what is flexible and what must remain usable until the last evening so the plan can fit the real commitments.
10 /
Keep the receiving rooms usable and prepare a real fallback
Before the crew starts, identify the items staying, the shipment groups and the rooms receiving first. Keep a person with working keys and authority available at each property. At delivery, leave the footprint for the larger furniture open and direct cartons to a place that will not block assembly or the route to another room.
Furniture is unwrapped as part of delivery. Box unpacking, final organizing and removal of empty packaging have separate scopes. If you need a usable bedroom or kitchen before other rooms, describe that finish when planning the work rather than waiting until cartons fill the only clear floor.
If keys or access may be delayed
Choose a decision deadline before dispatch or before an alternative receiving slot is lost. Name the customer or property representative authorized to decide, then have the move planner confirm the workable alternative: a different approved window, a separately agreed stage or available suitable storage with accepted intake. Record the extra handling, travel, storage or rescheduling charges that apply.
Keep medicines, documents and overnight essentials with the people who need them, and arrange where the household will stay if the home cannot receive. Notify both properties and the moving team when the trigger occurs. Resume delivery only after lawful vehicle access, possession, the receiving person and any necessary building window are confirmed. Do not clear the first address on the assumption that the second will open later.

11 /
Send the details that change the work
- Addresses and dates. Give the full municipality and unit, firm handover times, receiving access and any genuine alternatives.
- Contents and preparation. Include open cupboards, garage and lower-level storage, large or delicate pieces, packing responsibilities and separate destinations.
- The whole route. Show each stair and landing, lift and common door, driveway or lawful truck position, plus the building contact and actual instructions.
- The finish and fallback. Identify the rooms needed first, requested unpacking or removal, the decision-maker and the accepted alternative if access is lost.
We will identify the survey and decisions needed for a written estimate that reflects the actual move. You can start with the information you have; the planning team will explain what must be inspected and agreed next. The estimator and moving crew have different roles.

Questions before you move
Can you help with packing as well as the Cherry Hill move?
Yes. We can pack selected groups or the full agreed household, move the retained belongings and review receiving help or storage. Name what you will prepare yourself and the rooms or items you want us to handle. Boxes, optional unpacking and removal have their own charging terms.
Is a move from Cherry Hill to Philadelphia an interstate move?
Yes. That route crosses the New Jersey–Pennsylvania state line even though the addresses are nearby. Give both full addresses so the shipment, documents and receiving arrangement are planned as an interstate move. A move wholly within New Jersey follows its own intrastate requirements.
Do I need an on-site or video survey for a small New Jersey household move?
Yes. For a household move within New Jersey, the consumer agency requires an on-site or virtual survey before the written estimate. Send your inventory and access photographs to start the review, including garage and storage contents. A short list alone does not replace the survey.
Can a large moving truck use a residential street?
The residential-street weight rule has an exception for pickup and delivery on those streets. It does not reserve parking or remove the separate overnight restriction. Share the exact street, vehicle registered gross weight and working hours so the lawful route and loading position can be established.
Can the truck wait on the street overnight?
Do not plan on that. The township prohibits vehicles with registered gross weights above five tons from parking on county and municipal streets between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Arrange a lawful receiving time or an accepted separate stage before pickup if keys are uncertain. The pickup-and-delivery exception does not itself authorize overnight waiting.
Does a right-of-way permit automatically reserve a moving space?
No automatic reservation is established by the township permit page. It describes work in the right of way, including road, curb and sidewalk work. Explain the actual vehicle position and whether the move will obstruct traffic to the responsible authority. Keep its confirmation separate from private building permission.
What if the front door fits the furniture but the split-level stairs do not?
We review the piece, each flight and the turning space together. Send dimensions and views from both directions, including overhead obstructions. Basic disassembly may solve some routes; complex construction needs its own review. Do not rely on forcing the piece through or leaving a route decision until loading day.
Are basic furniture assembly and packing materials included?
Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly use your moving labor time without a separate basic assembly fee. Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape have no separate material charge. Boxes are charged separately. Complex furniture and specialist work receive individual quotes.
Can you unpack boxes and remove the packaging?
Furniture is unwrapped as part of delivery. We can also unpack the contents of boxes as optional work charged for time. Packaging and waste removal are charged separately; include the help you want in your request.
Can some belongings go to storage and the rest to the new home?
Yes, a split can be planned with clearly identified groups and accepted receiving arrangements at both destinations. Include the extra stop, handling and later storage release in the scope. Keep first-night essentials with you or in an accessible home group.
Does the moving booking confirm that the new rental is ready to occupy?
No. Cherry Hill requires the rental occupancy inspection before a new tenant occupies the unit. Have the owner confirm the property process and actual possession separately from the move. If access remains uncertain, settle the decision deadline and an accepted receiving alternative before dispatch.
What happens if the building gives us only a short moving window?
We plan the carrying sequence and staffing against that actual window. Materials or packing can be arranged beforehand when the property allows it. Confirm every elevator, entrance and receiving stage; if the work cannot fit, agree another approved stage or window and its charges before the day.
What if snow blocks the driveway after the route was reviewed?
Have the responsible property contact clear the driveway apron, walking path and steps before carrying begins, and tell the planner when the proposed access is lost. Reassess the vehicle position and timing against current snow restrictions. Use the agreed fallback if the original route cannot be made usable in time.
Does an office move include restarting the network?
IT disconnection and transport can be included in the reviewed moving work. Arrange reconnection, testing and startup with your IT provider, with a named release and receiving order. Unloaded equipment is not yet a working business system.
What should I send first for an estimate?
Send both addresses, firm dates, the retained inventory and the help you want. Include every floor and storage space, the difficult pieces, complete carrying routes and actual building instructions. Identify separate destinations and unresolved keys or loading access so the required survey and decisions address the whole job.
