For a room change, seasonal setup or renovation clearance, identify the items that stay within the home or building. For a store, private-seller or gallery pickup, include the collection instructions, destination room and any outdoor items or assembly. Have the actual work reviewed in the estimate.

For unwanted furniture, estate remainders or accumulated equipment, compare removal with avoidable moving costs. Confirm the item, carrying route and actual borough or Bergen County receiving option before arranging collection.

Show the driveway and gate restrictions so the vehicle approach and loading position can be planned. We do not take exterior photographs or publish job updates, and address details stay with the people arranging the move.

Alpine’s traffic code prohibits street parking by commercial vehicles from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.; temporary emergency signs and street-specific restrictions also matter. Its residential delivery exceptions are conditional, so review the exact truck, location and time rather than treating a home delivery as blanket parking permission. NJDOT’s Route 9W orders separately restrict stopping near Hillside Avenue and Closter Dock Road. Plan a confirmed receiving position rather than using the highway shoulder as a waiting area.

Include the full route from gate to entrance and through the rooms: floors, rails, doors and any elevator. We’ll choose protection and preparation for the surfaces and furniture involved.

We can coordinate building COIs, moving-truck permit arrangements, elevator scheduling and moves that require union labor. Send the building instructions and management contact early. We can also arrange materials and packing before the carrying window when the property permits that access.

The agreed plan should identify who submits each request, who approves it and which municipal or building charges apply. An application is one step; the required access and time still need confirmation.

Labor, materials and optional work

Tell us which tasks you want completed and which materials you need. Your estimate should distinguish moving labor, boxes, specialist work and removal charges.

List wine-room contents, gym equipment and artwork separately, with dimensions, condition concerns and the carry route. We can quote the specialist packing, preparation or custom crates those items need; they are not automatic additions to every move.

Specialist services by individual quote

Send photographs, dimensions, make or model where relevant, and the route through both properties. Describe exactly what needs to be taken apart, moved or installed. We review the method and required work before providing an individual quote.

IT transport and disconnection are available; arrange reconnection and system startup with your IT team. Crane work is outside our service scope.

We can also quote island moves, recycling, move-out cleaning and car shipping. For an island destination, provide the exact address so the vehicle or freight crossing, receiving arrangements and final delivery can be reviewed together.

Include instruments in the item review as well as artwork and antiques. Agree the object-specific soft protection or crate, any condition record and the receiving requirements before handling.

For a business move, separate the moving inventory from what staff or technical vendors will disconnect, secure and restart. Send the desks, storage furniture and equipment, both buildings’ entrances, loading arrangements, working hours and COI instructions. Name one coordinator for the room layout and vendor handoffs. Identify any required business restart time before choosing a moving date; agreed placement and assembly do not establish that IT or other specialist systems are ready to operate.

For household-goods transport entirely within New Jersey, we arrange an on-site or video survey before calculating the written estimate. An item list starts preparation and does not replace that survey. The estimate is normally due at least 24 hours before the move; the consumer notice defines the limited short-notice exceptions. Review the selected protection before signing: the state’s basic liability is generally $1 per pound, with increased valuation or insurance as separate choices. Local moves: estimated hours, not a fixed total

Most local moves are priced by working time. Your estimate sets out the hourly basis, any minimum hours and the work and materials to be charged separately. Estimated hours help us plan the crew and whether the work can fit the proposed day; they are not a maximum charge or a promise that the move will finish within that time.

A move estimated at six hours may take eight if traffic delays the truck, an elevator is shared rather than reserved, packing is unfinished or the inventory or plan changes. Tell us about changes early. If the work needs preparation on another day or a separate delivery stage, we will review those arrangements with you. Charging follows the written terms for the move.

Long-distance flat rates: the same scope, the same price

For a long-distance move quoted at a flat rate, the agreed price stays the same when the shipment and agreed work stay the same. Added belongings, omitted items, extra packing or changed access and delivery requirements can change the scope and price. Keep the inventory, packing responsibilities and pickup and delivery conditions in writing, and have additions reviewed before the affected work begins.

Choose protection before the move

Discuss the basic liability option and higher protection available at an additional charge before moving day. Have the selected level, cost, limits and claims process recorded in your moving documents. Tell us about artwork and other high-value items in advance so their declared values and any special requirements can be reviewed.

For interstate household-goods moves, Full Value Protection applies unless you select Released Value through the required written waiver. Valuation is the mover’s level of liability; it is different from a separate insurance policy. Review the FMCSA explanation of liability and protection and the terms for your particular move.

Direct and consolidated long-distance moving

Our direct long-distance service uses a dedicated truck and the same moving crew at pickup and delivery. For a suitable small shipment, ask about consolidated delivery with a wider agreed receiving window. We serve destinations throughout the United States and Canada. Confirm pickup, delivery and any storage stages in the written move plan. The planning team performs a separate role from the moving crew.

If the receiving home is not ready

Set a receiving cutoff before committing the truck and crew. Confirm who will hold the keys, essential services, a lawful vehicle position and the complete safe carrying route. Name the person who can decide whether delivery proceeds if one of those conditions fails.

If the home is not ready, choose an available alternative address, waiting, storage or a revised delivery time with the planning team. Confirm permission and capacity and agree the extra handling, storage, access and redelivery charges before choosing. Arrange the household’s lodging, care, medication and travel separately. Resume only after the receiving contact confirms the new place and time, working access and services, and the planner confirms the agreed work and charges.
